Pathways in Technology Early College High School

St. Vrain Valley Schools is home to Colorado’s first Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program, now offered at four district high schools. P-TECH is a new type of school that brings together the best elements of high school, college and the professional world, allowing students to earn a high school diploma as well an associate degree at no cost to the student. The program includes significant internship and mentorship opportunities alongside industry partners, giving students a head start in their career after completing the program. Students enroll in ninth grade and complete the program in four to six years. Areas of study include Computer Information Systems (Front Range Community College), Biochemistry (Aims Community College), Cybersecurity (Aims Community College) and General Business (Front Range Community College).

St. Vrain Valley Schools P-TECH serves approximately 450-500 students annually. 55% of P-TECH students are first generation college students, and 41% are second language learners.

P-TECH By the Numbers:

163 P-TECH students have earned an associate’s degree at not cost to them.

Since 2019, 288 P-TECH students have engaged in internship opportunities.

P-TECH works with over 18 different industry partners.

Over one third of P-TECH graduates have gone on to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

P-TECH has 312 active mentors working with P-TECH students (almost one to one).
