Visual Arts

The St. Vrain Valley School District is committed to developing excellence in education and each teacher will establish, develop and refine curriculum designed to cultivate potential within each student. Comprehensive and systematic visual arts education, kindergarten through senior high school, is imperative to achieving these goals of reaching the potential within each student. Its function is to continue to develop the students’ creative abilities, instill an enthusiasm and appreciation for visual arts and design, and to develop the skills necessary for self-expression and creative thinking across all disciplines. Through art experiences, a student continues to build skills such as critical thinking and creative problem-solving. Art is a confidence building process that can provide the student with a greater self-confidence – thus greater self-esteem. Additionally, our teachers hope to instill a love of visual art in our students, and encourage them to be life-long creators of visual art.
