Instructional Technology Advisory Committee
After the passage of the 2012 mill levy, our district had the opportunity to re-imagine teaching and learning with technology in St. Vrain Valley Schools. In order to ensure that this investment aligns with instructional priorities and school needs, the Instructional Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) was convened and tasked with developing a set of recommendations for technology access. The committees – one for secondary and one for elementary – consisted of a small group of school administrators, department leaders, teacher leaders, and parents.
These committees provided input and guidance to the technology department and helped to develop implementation plans for future technology investments. The first task for the ITAC committees was to determine baseline expectations for technology access (i.e., identify the technologies every teacher and student should have available to support teaching and learning). From their months of work, the Learning Technology Plan was developed. Continuing work includes reviewing plans and proposals for technology integration as well as providing ongoing feedback and input.
