Information Regarding Inclement Weather Procedures

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for your partnership as we continue to advance the academic success and well-being of our students. Communication throughout our community is essential to ensuring the ongoing safety of our community. Toward this end, we would like to share important inclement weather information so that your family can be prepared in the event severe weather results in the closure or delay of our schools. 

2017 Band Night

Performances are polished, instruments are shined and uniforms are press for St. Vrain’s annual Band Night. Ten high schools will put on a show that will get your toes tapping. Join us on October 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. and prepare to be dazzled.

EFSVV Classroom grant applications due Sept. 15

The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley (EFSVV) is now accepting grant requests from teachers and schools for projects that enhance student learning within St. Vrain Valley Schools. Previous grants have been awarded to fund technology, learning tools, field trips, and curriculum enhancement materials.

St. Vrain Valley School District starts construction on districtwide Innovation Center

Construction has started on the St. Vrain Valley's new Innovation Center, designed to give the district's students space to use what they're learning in school to create, prototype and solve real-world problems.

The $20 million building, at Quail Road and Martin Street in south Longmont, is expected to open in the fall of 2018 and expand the existing space from 6,000 square feet to 50,000 square feet.

St. Vrain Students Look to the Sky

On August 21, students across St. Vrain Valley Schools experienced the 'Great American Eclipse' through district-provided safety viewing glasses, indoor live-streaming and immersive classroom activities.

2016 Bond and Construction Update

It has been a busy summer of construction in St. Vrain Valley Schools with $121,000,000 of projects under construction including a new elementary school in Frederick, a new PK-8 in Erie and the new Innovation Center in Longmont.

Innovation Center takes flight with new aviation program

The Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools is proud to offer a new aviation engineering program that empowers students to conduct research and development of commercial and recreational remote pilot unmanned aircraft systems. Students will also focus on the application of drone flight and safety, business, marketing and outreach in the industry. Through the collaboration of local industry experts, students will learn the use of design thinking, computer aided design, manufacturing, project and flight management, earn industry certifications, and much more.

Leaving a legacy at Lyons Elementary School

Ten-year-old Eden Irvin learned a lot in fifth grade and thanks to a year-end project there is a permanent reminder of her hard work in the entryway of Lyons Elementary School. 
 
A large, wooden book lies open at the front of the school and features carvings that represent lessons learned by Eden’s class throughout the school year and the legacy they hope to leave behind.
