About St. Vrain Valley Schools

St. Vrain Valley School District is the educational home of more than 32,000 of Colorado’s students. The seventh largest school district in the state, St. Vrain Valley operates 53 schools that are spread over 411 square miles. The makeup of the schools include: 1 Stand Alone Preschool, 26 Elementary, 2 K-8, 7 Middle, 1 Middle/Senior, 8 High, 1 Alternative, and 6 Charter.

Professional Development

St. Vrain provides ongoing support for licensed, administrative and classified personnel, offering over 40 low cost continuing education classes for professional development each semester. Partners in Education (PIE) gives new teachers the chance to earn a master’s degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Focus Programs

For years, St. Vrain has successfully cultivated academic focus programs such as International Baccalaureate, Pre-collegiate Advanced Placement and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). This variety of programming does not just benefit students, it also benefits teachers who have the opportunity to work within programs specific to their specialized skillset.

Educational Technology

Funded by the 2012 mill levy override, $2.2 million is allocated annually to educational technology for classrooms, teachers and students. Through online courses, small group discussions, mentorship opportunities and week long iPad learning camps, teachers are learning best practices for incorporating iPads and other forms of technology in their classrooms.
